Why this project exists
The modern employment marketplace depends on search engines, job boards, aggregators, applicant tracking systems, recruiting firms and other intermediaries. These services can expand opportunity and help employers reach workers they could not otherwise reach.
They can also create a serious problem when job seekers cannot determine whether an advertised position is authentic, whether it remains available, who is receiving their information, or whether an application actually reaches the employer.
Our position
Job distribution should be open. Application paths should be transparent. Applications should reach the employer.
Independence
The Project may accept financial, technical and research support from employers, recruiting companies, job platforms and other organizations. No contributor should control research findings, suppress unfavorable results, or receive preferential treatment under the Project’s standards.
