Terms of Use

1. Free public-service resource

JAIP is provided at no charge as a public service. JAIP does not charge job seekers, employers or members of the public to use its educational resources, reporting guidance or government-resource directory.

Free access does not change the limitations described in these Terms. JAIP is not a law firm, government agency, law-enforcement organization or paid legal-referral service, and no particular result is promised or guaranteed.

2. Educational purpose only

JAIP publishes research, standards, explanatory material and links intended to help job seekers, employers and other participants better understand job postings, application paths, potential fraud indicators, consumer-protection resources and employment-related reporting channels.

Nothing on this site is a substitute for advice from an attorney, government agency, law-enforcement authority, financial institution, credit bureau, identity-theft specialist or other qualified professional.

3. Reporting suggestions are informational

Interactive tools, checklists and resource recommendations on JAIP are designed to help users identify government agencies or other official resources that may be relevant to facts the user describes. They do not determine whether a law was violated, whether conduct was fraudulent, whether a claim is valid, or whether a particular agency has jurisdiction.

More than one agency may have overlapping authority, and an agency may decline, refer, close or otherwise handle a report according to its own rules. JAIP does not control that process.

4. No guarantee of investigation, enforcement or outcome

JAIP makes no promise or guarantee that a complaint, report, referral or submission will be accepted, investigated, prosecuted, enforced, resolved or result in money being recovered, a posting being removed, an account being restored, an employer taking action, or any other particular outcome.

Past enforcement activity, published agency guidance or another person's experience does not guarantee the same result in a different matter.

5. You are responsible for deadlines and official requirements

Legal rights and government reporting processes may be subject to statutes of limitation, charge-filing periods, appeal periods, notice requirements or other deadlines. Agency procedures, forms, eligibility rules and jurisdiction can change.

Using JAIP, saving an incident record, clicking an agency link, or sending information to JAIP does not file a government complaint and does not stop, extend or preserve any legal deadline. Users should confirm current requirements directly with the relevant agency or a qualified attorney.

6. Information you submit

You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of information you provide to JAIP. Do not knowingly submit false accusations, fabricated evidence, unlawfully obtained material, confidential information you are not authorized to disclose, passwords, or unnecessary sensitive personal information.

When documenting a problem, distinguish facts you personally observed from conclusions or suspicions. Preserve original evidence whenever possible.

JAIP will never ask you to submit highly sensitive personal information. Do not submit full Social Security numbers, complete bank or payment credentials, passwords, medical records, tax credentials, government identification numbers, or similarly sensitive information to JAIP. If supporting evidence contains such information, redact it before sending a copy to JAIP and retain the unaltered original in your own secure records if appropriate.

7. No attorney-client privilege or confidential legal relationship

Communications with JAIP are not communications with your attorney and are not protected by attorney-client privilege merely because they concern a legal or regulatory issue. Do not send information to JAIP on the assumption that it will receive the confidentiality protections that apply to a lawyer-client relationship.

8. Government and third-party links

JAIP links to government agencies and other external resources for convenience. External websites are controlled by their respective operators. JAIP is not responsible for their availability, content, privacy practices, security, filing systems, eligibility decisions, or changes to their forms or procedures.

When an official government source conflicts with information on JAIP, rely on the current official source.

9. Research and standards are not adjudications

JAIP research, ratings of application-path characteristics, documentation of observed behavior, standards and educational conclusions are not judicial findings, government determinations or legal conclusions. A documented application-path concern does not, by itself, establish fraud, unlawful conduct or liability.

10. Website availability and accuracy

JAIP works to keep information useful and current, but information may become incomplete, outdated or inaccurate. The website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law, without a guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete or suitable for a particular legal purpose.

11. Limitation of responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, JAIP and those involved in operating the site are not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on educational content, failure to meet a filing deadline, an agency's decision not to act, an external website's conduct, or a user's decision to submit or not submit a report based on information presented here.

Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12. Changes to these Terms

JAIP may revise these Terms as the Project, its research and its reporting resources evolve. The version posted on this page is the version that applies to use of the site at that time.
